5 "BIO" generations : values and codes of ethics passed on from father to son…

Franz Klockenbring
Franz
1894

Franz Klockenbring was the first one of this "BIO" line.

A pharmacist in Strasbourg, he was very much attached to the principles of homeopathy, a medicine which above all, respects our body. He effectively contributed to the setting up of the WELEDA factory in Usserheim (natural pharmaceutical plant-based products.)

But one idea was uppermost in his mind : he wished to devote his efforts to looking after and healing the earth, this precious and invaluable treasure! When he found a beautiful farm in the lovely South-West of France sitting in the heart of the Lot-et-Garonne in a village called Montpezat d’Agenais, he couldn’t resist : he bought it.

Jean-Didier Klockenbring

It was his son, Jean-Didier Klockenbring who took the farm in hand after his graduate studies in agricultural science.

Gradually he became interested in this \"other way\" of farming, which consists not in exploiting but in respecting the earth): it is called BIOLOGICAL or ORGANIC FARMING.

He was, at the time, a pioneer in this almost unexplored branch. Despite everything he persevered in the midst of criticism and lack of understanding, waiting for the idea to gain ground and to be accepted and finally recognized by the Ministry of Agriculture itself as a solution for the future.

Bernard Klockenbring

It is obvious that he passed on this love for the earth and this respect for nature to his son Bernard Klockenbring.

Bernard, with his diploma of advanced agriculture, turned without hesitation and with full conviction, towards organic farming, which was not yet an established concept in the traditional system. He launched naturally into prune orchard production. (In his area you can’t be without the delicious \"pruneaux d’Agen\".) He also began to diversify his fruit growing.

The absence of a commercial organic network encouraged him to process and sell the fruit of his crops by himself (prunes, jams, juices…), and thus he acquired faithful customers. He was especially happy to offer to his customers products which contributed to their health.

David Klockenbring

1975

As the business side grew rapidly he was relieved to get the offer of help from his son David Klockenbring, for it would allow him to again give all his energy to farming his property.

After a university education in product management David now takes care of the entire processing and marketing activity of the farm products. This is why he created the family-owned company BIOLO'KLOCK.

Thanks to the long training with his father and his love for “tasty food” he rapidly became an expert in drying and cooking techniques, and above all a great jam maker. He attaches great importance to the quality of his products, always respecting nature and the customer’s health, and of course he wants it to be a treat for the palate.

Since his marriage David has acquired an invaluable helper in Marie, his wife. Together they always work to give greater satisfaction to their customers through new incomparable recipes of which only Maître David holds the secret.

Maybe he keeps them jealously to himself, to pass them on later to his charming and delightful little girls,Carly, Elia and Anna Klockenbring,... when they will be of age to understand and defend in their turn the values of a healthy life ?

The earth, this inheritance we receive from our fathers, we are responsible to look after it until the day we pass it on to our children
